The Courier Driver position at SPS Global is a critical role that anchors the company's logistics and distribution system in Santa Clara, California. This on-site role is designed for candidates who are dependable, service-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where operational efficiency and service quality are key. The Courier Driver is responsible for supporting daily courier, freight, and dock operations by navigating predefined delivery routes to ensure timely parcel and mail delivery, as well as managing freight with safety and compliance in mind. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of operations within shipping, receiving, and dock environments. The Courier Driver will also be tasked with managing vehicle safety and maintenance, ensuring all delivery trucks meet operational and safety standards. Beyond the direct delivery duties, the role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask and adapt to the dynamic needs of logistics operations. This position reports directly to supervisory leadership including the Client Services Supervisor or Manager. - 2+ years of experience in courier, freight handling, dock, or logistics roles preferred
- experience operating within warehouse or dock environments preferred
- familiarity with delivery tracking systems and logistics technology preferred
Job Duties
- navigate predefined delivery routes via company vehicle to deliver mail and parcels safely and efficiently
- ensure timely and accurate distribution of deliveries
- maintain detailed logs and time stamps for items received and delivered
- support chain-of-custody documentation and compliance requirements
- manage loading and unloading of freight in accordance with safety standards
- assist with organization and management of shipping and receiving areas
- support dock operations to maintain workflow efficiency
- coordinate proper distribution of freight and materials
- perform routine inspections and ensure operational readiness of delivery vehicles
- maintain compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- report maintenance concerns and ensure vehicles meet operational standards
- deliver exceptional customer service to clients and SPS employees
- respond promptly and professionally to operational requests
- proactively seek additional tasks during downtime
- provide cross-functional support across logistics and operational areas as needed
