The role available is for a Courier based at 7150 Windsor Dr., Allentown, PA 18106, USA. This is a regular, part-time position with a schedule from Tuesday through Saturday, 12 PM to 5 PM, offering a pay rate of $15 per hour. The Courier plays a vital role in the company's operations by ensuring the timely and safe transportation of samples from clients to the laboratory and the delivery of completed reports when required. This position demands a high level of responsibility, including adherence to safety policies, maintaining the quality and integrity of samples during transportation, and performing various errands to support laboratory personnel.
The Courier must exhibit excellent driving skills and maintain an impeccable driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier standards. Client interaction is an important aspect of this role, requiring courteous communication and responsiveness to any emerging client needs. The Courier also supports the laboratory by assisting with sample preparation, analysis, and equipment maintenance when necessary. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and proper record-keeping for mileage, vehicle maintenance, and other key data is essential for smooth departmental operations.
In addition to transportation duties, the Courier supports the corporate quality and continuous improvement processes, with the authority to identify and document any deviations from the quality system or test procedures. Physical demands of the role include lifting samples up to 50 pounds, working in a laboratory environment with the use of safety gear such as masks, laboratory coats, and insulated gloves, and exposure to laboratory fumes and chemicals. The Courier spends most of the day in the delivery vehicle, adapting to various environmental conditions at delivery sites. This dynamic and varied role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to route changes, and effective time management to meet scheduled pickups and deliveries. Job Duties
