We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Courier to join our analytical laboratory team located at 3600 Eagle Nest Drive, North Building, Crete, Illinois. This full-time position is essential for maintaining the smooth operational flow between clients and the laboratory. The Courier's primary responsibility is to pick up samples from clients and ensure timely and safe delivery to the laboratory, as well as delivering completed reports when necessary. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and standard operating protocols to maintain sample integrity and quality.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent client relation skills, the ability to manage time efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining the accuracy and safety of the samples in transit. Couriers will also provide courteous customer service, communicate client needs to the laboratory, and support the laboratory staff with various errands and tasks to ensure that the analytical process proceeds without delay. The position may require occasional assistance with laboratory preparation and equipment cleaning, along with supporting continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.

Physical demands include the ability to lift sample loads up to 50 pounds, spend extended periods driving, and work under various environmental conditions, including exposure to laboratory chemicals while adhering to safety protocols. Ideal candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and demonstrate safe driving skills at all times.

Compensation for this position is competitive with an hourly pay rate of $17.00 to $19.00. Job Duties

  • Exhibit safe driving skills and maintain a driving record acceptable to company’s insurance carrier
  • pick up samples from clients at the arranged times and deliver to the laboratory
  • provide courteous client service and communicate emerging client requirements to the laboratory as needed
  • ensure departmental standard operating procedures are followed at all times
  • check samples regularly to maintain correct temperature
  • maintain records of mileage, vehicle maintenance, and other departmental logs
  • maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform required maintenance
  • run errands for laboratory personnel to facilitate timely analysis
  • assist laboratory personnel with preparation and analysis of samples when needed
  • assist with washing of laboratory equipment
