Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in cashiering and bookkeeping
- Familiarity with office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of customer service principles
- Ability to operate computers and office equipment

- Understanding of Texas statutes related to the position
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to handle public inquiries politely and effectively

Job Duties
- Evaluate, analyze, prepare, file, record, retrieve and transport birth, death, marriage license, DD214's and assumed name documents
- Calculate appropriate fees based on document parameters imposed by legislation
- Assist employees with preparing and issuing marriage licenses
- File and copy DD214's and assumed names
- Make copies of marriage licenses, birth and death records and assumed name filings
- Cross-train to assist for department coverage during absences
- Float between departments as needed
- File and process Warehouse Bonds and Public Weigher Bonds
- Receive, review, and process documents, inquiries, and requests by mail or electronic means
- Maintain confidentiality and security of documents and data
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide public information
- Attend the public counter for vital records processing
- Collect and receipt fees accurately
- File Notary Public books and seals for retired notaries
- Assist the public with Public Access Computers
- Process clerk's certification on applications for liquor licenses
- Assist Bookkeeper and Cashier with monthly reports
- Assist with retrieval, opening and distribution of daily mail
- Scan court records, DD214, marriage license and assumed name certificates
- Back index marriage license and assumed name certificates
- Prepare Commissioners Court meeting worksheets
- Attend and take minutes at commissioner court meetings as needed
- Participate in training and mentoring to develop leadership, management and technical skills
- Arrive on time and complete workday
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary
