Tide Cleaners is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Staff to join their team. This role is critical in maintaining excellent customer relationships and ensuring smooth store operations. Counter Staff work directly with customers, managing pick-up and drop-off transactions for dry cleaning and laundry services with attentiveness and professionalism. They act as the face of the company in-store, representing Tide Cleaners' commitment to service excellence and quality.
The position offers both full-time and part-time shifts with flexible scheduling to accommodate 32 to 40 hours for full-time employees or up to 29 hours per week for part-time employees, including overtime opportunities as needed. The store operates Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Sundays closed.
Counter Staff responsibilities include greeting customers, addressing inquiries via phone, email, or in person, performing garment check-in and check-out, tagging and inspecting garments, and handling transactions accurately. They also contribute to quality assurance by ensuring all items meet the company’s high standards before handing garments back to customers. Other duties involve supporting training for new staff, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
This role requires excellent communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment while standing for long durations. Candidates should be self-motivated and exhibit a positive, energetic approach to interacting with clients and teammates. Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not mandatory, and ongoing training will be provided to develop staff skills continually.

Job Duties

- provide outstanding in-store service for dry cleaning and laundry pick-up/drop-off customers
- manage customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
- build rapport, identify needs, and resolve issues or complaints professionally
- perform check-in/check-out tasks, tag and spot-check garments, and organize items per customer requests
- accurately calculate prices and handle cash/credit transactions
- ensure all garments meet Tide Dry Cleaners' quality standards
- help train new employees in store procedures and processes
- open/close the store, set and meet daily goals, and maintain a clean, organized counter area
- work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, while standing for extended periods
- perform additional tasks as assigned
