This role is for a Counter Sales Associate based in Green Bay, WI, working in a retail environment. As the first point of contact in the branch, the Counter Sales Associate serves as the face of Airgas, greeting customers as they enter and assisting with their product needs. This position focuses on selling a broad range of products, including medical, industrial, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and various tools and hardgoods. In addition to sales responsibilities, the associate handles inquiries via walk-ins and telephone, providing knowledgeable support. Warehouse duties are also part of the role, requiring assistance with shipping, receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, and labeling.
The position operates Monday through Friday on the first shift, emphasizing a structured workweek and reliable schedule. Candidates should possess strong customer service skills and the ability to manage physical tasks such as stocking and handling cylinders safely, often requiring moving weights up to 60 pounds and using material handling equipment to assist with heavier loads. Proficiency with computer systems is important for managing sales and quotes efficiently, and accurate paperwork completion is mandatory.

Job Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications
- Frequent use of computer, telephone, and occasional use of forklift or pallet jack
- Physical ability to stock inventory and handle cylinders
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with material handling equipment
Job Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Welding Technology or Sales preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of product, warehouse and/or sales related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and use material handling equipment for heavier weights
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work Monday to Friday on first shift
- Knowledge of safety procedures for cylinder handling
Job Duties
- Solicits sales from walk-in and telephone call-in customers assisting customers with identification of product needs and locating merchandise
- Accurately completes and files all required paperwork on a timely basis and documents sales, quotes or other information
- Enters sales and quote data into the computer and researches information for customers using the computer system
- Receives payment for merchandise or services sold and adheres to all administrative and accounting related procedures
- Restocks store merchandise as needed, arranges stock on shelves or racks, and marks or tickets merchandise
- Provides warehouse support for shipping and receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, and labeling
- Follows all safety procedures including cylinder handling during exchanges and storage
- Maintains showroom cleanliness by procedures set forth by management
- Maintains current price documentation and product literature
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned
