Job Description
JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa is a luxury hotel and resort located in Miami, Florida, known for its exceptional service, elegant ambiance, and world-class amenities. As part of the Marriott International portfolio, the resort offers a refined hospitality experience catering to both leisure and business travelers. The establishment prides itself on providing guests with a unique blend of comfort, sophistication, and attentive service in a stunning location. The resort includes a variety of dining options, from casual to fine dining, coupled with luxurious accommodations and recreational facilities including golf courses, spa, and event spaces.
The role of General Manager within the food and beverage operations at JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa is critical to maintaining and elevating the resort's high standards of guest satisfaction and financial performance. The General Manager is tasked with the comprehensive responsibility of planning, organizing, and coordinating all food and beverage activities at the restaurant level. This leadership position demands supervision of the day-to-day operations, ensuring quality service, adherence to health and safety regulations, and financial stewardship to maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor suited for a luxury environment and a proven track record of leading teams in a fast-paced, high-end food and beverage setting.
The General Manager is expected to enhance both guest and Associate satisfaction by fostering a positive and motivated work environment, implementing training programs, and addressing any concerns promptly. Exceptional guest service is paramount, including meeting or exceeding customer expectations from entry to departure. That includes managing staff performance, recruitment, training, payroll, budgets, and inventory efficiently to maintain operational excellence. This role also involves direct oversight of service quality and compliance, handling guest feedback, and ensuring that the restaurant operates smoothly and profitably.
A strong knowledge of menu offerings across all meal periods and beverage options including wine pairing is essential. The General Manager must also be adept at navigating the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing, invoice payment, and report generation to monitor performance metrics closely. Communication and collaboration within various teams (kitchen, stewarding, and dining room) are crucial to successfully execute the resort’s service standards and drive operational success.
This employment opportunity is an excellent fit for an experienced food and beverage leader who thrives in a luxury hospitality setting and is committed to excellence in guest experience and team development. The position requires certification in ServSafe and TIPS, a minimum of three years of leadership experience in a food and beverage environment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic workplace. The role offers a challenging yet rewarding career path in one of Miami’s most prestigious resorts, where leadership, strategic planning, and a passion for hospitality come together to create exceptional dining experiences.
