Job Description
The JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa is a distinguished luxury hotel owned and operated by Fontainebleau Development, an independent franchisee of Marriott International, Inc. This means that while the resort proudly carries the Marriott name, the franchisee independently manages all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies, practices, and operations. With a commitment to excellence, the resort offers upscale accommodations, world-class amenities, and exceptional guest services in the vibrant Miami area, appealing to both leisure and business travelers. The hotel’s enviable location, combined with its robust portfolio of dining and recreational options, makes it a premier destination for visitors seeking luxury and comfort.
The role of General Manager at JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the establishment. This position requires an individual with a passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of fine dining and service standards, and the ability to drive financial success through effective planning, organization, and team leadership. The General Manager plays a critical role in ensuring every guest experiences exceptional service, from the moment they enter the restaurant to their departure. This includes managing day-to-day operational functions, enforcing quality and compliance standards, and fostering a positive working environment that prioritizes both guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
The General Manager’s responsibilities extend beyond operational oversight to encompass financial management, staffing, training, and collaboration with different departments such as kitchen, stewarding, and dining room teams. They are expected to conduct regular inspections, handle guest feedback promptly, and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and service quality as demanded by both the Department of Health and JW Marriott’s brand standards. A key part of the role is developing and implementing strategies that promote ongoing improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.
Moreover, the General Manager will be instrumental in recruiting, training, and developing associates, ensuring the team is well-prepared to meet the dynamic needs of guests. This leadership role demands excellent communication skills to conduct meetings, appraisals, and coaching sessions that motivate staff and drive departmental goals. From overseeing purchasing and budgeting to managing payroll and inventory, the General Manager has comprehensive responsibilities that affect the overall profitability and reputation of the food and beverage operations.
In return for their expertise and commitment, the General Manager is provided with an opportunity to work in a prestigious environment that values quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction. Fontainebleau Development fosters an inclusive culture that supports career growth and encourages employees to excel. As an equal opportunity employer, the company offers a supportive workplace where diversity is embraced.
Candidates interested in this role will find a dynamic and rewarding career path within a respected brand, representing Marriott International’s franchise but operated independently for greater autonomy and local operational control. This position is ideal for seasoned hospitality professionals who thrive in high-performing environments and possess a track record of successful management in upscale food and beverage settings.
