The Corrections Oversight Worker role within Aramark plays a critical part in the company’s food service operations inside correctional facilities. This position involves supervising inmates to ensure that meals and food items are prepared strictly according to production plans and company standards. The Corrections Oversight Worker is responsible for training inmates and workers on proper food service procedures, managing workflow to maximize efficiency, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the food preparation areas. This role also demands adherence to strict safety and security protocols, including correctional facility regulations and standards related to food safety such as HACCP guidelines. Supervisory duties include approving production and temperature logs, monitoring portion control, and ensuring special dietary requirements are met.

Candidates for this role must demonstrate strong leadership skills in a challenging correctional environment, with the ability to motivate and effectively communicate with inmates and staff. The Corrections Oversight Worker oversees the entire food preparation process from printing and distributing recipes to managing inventory, storage, and meal assembly. Job Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • previous experience interacting with inmates a plus
  • ability to motivate and supervise inmates and or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment
  • must be able to obtain a food safety certification
  • ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • ability to exercise good judgment and tact
  • must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies
  • must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards by reviewing and approving production and temperature logs
  • supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly
  • ensure timely, efficient meal service and all Aramark guidelines are being met
  • participate in preparation and serving of meals
  • print and distribute recipes
  • direct inmates in the use of Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures
  • ensure proper portions and any special dietary requirements are fulfilled
