Job Description
Selland Hospitality Group has established itself as a leader in the farm-to-fork movement for over 30 years, building a strong reputation anchored in quality, integrity, and community dedication. With an impressive portfolio of six diverse locations ranging from casual favorites to fine-dining excellence, this esteemed hospitality company continues to set standards in the culinary field. By prioritizing locally sourced ingredients and maintaining a commitment to sustainable practices, Selland Hospitality Group crafts memorable dining experiences that simultaneously celebrate fresh, seasonal flavors and innovation in the kitchen. Whether it is a bustling, casual eatery or an elegant, refined restaurant, this group brings its passion for exceptional food and top-tier service to every seat at the table.
Joining Selland Hospitality Group means becoming part of a company culture intentionally founded on five core pillars: teamwork, hospitality, excellence, pride, and making a positive impact. Teamwork thrives here through mentoring leadership roles, particularly in culinary positions where Executive Chefs and senior kitchen leaders continually develop their skills. Hospitality drives a 'Guest First' attitude ensuring the guest experience remains paramount with every dish served. Excellence is demonstrated by defining and elevating culinary standards through collaboration on research and development right through to flawless execution. Pride in the culinary craft means guarding the quality and distinctiveness of each brand that composes the group’s diverse portfolio. Lastly, the fostered environment of humility and respect maintains a safe and inspiring work atmosphere across all kitchens.
The role being offered is that of a hands-on, kitchens-first culinary leader tasked with overseeing the culinary programs and food quality across all six locations. This position demands an individual who isn't just a visionary chef but someone who actively steps into the heart of operations to manage and elevate standards daily. From leading the rollout of seasonal menu changes and holiday catering to creating standardized recipes and training tools, this role is pivotal in ensuring consistency and excellence. The successful candidate will work alongside operations leadership teams to manage food costs and labor budgets while maintaining 100% compliance with California Health Codes and safety protocols. Their responsibilities also include conducting kitchen walkthroughs, offering coaching and feedback, and fostering professional growth among chefs and kitchen staff.
This opportunity is perfect for an experienced culinary leader with over ten years of leadership expertise spanning casual upscale and fine-dining establishments. Proven multi-unit management experience is key, as is the ability to stay calm under pressure in fast-paced, high-volume environments. The ideal candidate will also hold a current ServSafe certification, possess comprehensive knowledge of kitchen equipment and techniques, and demonstrate flexibility to work varied schedules including nights and weekends. Physical readiness to navigate all kitchen areas is essential.
Working at Selland Hospitality Group provides excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, paid time off, holiday pay, and unique perks like free meals on shift and employee discounts at all group restaurants. The company actively supports ongoing education by reimbursing certifications such as WSET, Court of Masters, and pastry qualifications. Emphasis is placed on valuing team members and promoting from within, fostering a strong professional team atmosphere that celebrates milestones and achievements. If you are ready to make a significant impact on the Sacramento culinary scene and join a group that values integrity, quality, and community, Selland Hospitality Group invites you to apply and become part of a distinguished culinary family.
