The role available is for an Event Manager based at Allegiant Stadium, a cutting-edge event destination adjacent to the iconic Las Vegas Strip and home to the Las Vegas Raiders. Allegiant Stadium is a notable venue with a capacity of 65,000, hosting major global acts such as Garth Brooks, The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses, Illenium, and BTS. The stadium is a multipurpose facility that not only serves as the home field for the UNLV Rebels football team but also hosts premier sporting events including the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, Pac-12 Championship Game, Las Vegas Bowl, and WWE SummerSlam, as well as the NFL Pro Bowl in 2022 and Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.
The position of Event Manager primarily involves serving as the main point of contact for corporate and private events at Allegiant Stadium, overseeing all logistics, planning, and coordination necessary to achieve event success. Key responsibilities include managing corporate events, tradeshows, community functions, and occasionally supporting tenant events. The Event Manager will lead a team and collaborate with subcontractors, decorating firms, audio-visual vendors, food and beverage providers, and contractors to ensure seamless event execution. This role also focuses on building and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and vendors to promote a superior customer service experience and encourage repeat bookings.
Additionally, the Event Manager supervises staffing needs for events and ensures that security, operations, and guest service teams are well-communicated with and aligned on event requirements. They are also tasked with managing event expenses from contracting through final settlement and preparing essential documentation such as work orders, floor plans, event reports, and final invoicing. The role necessitates ensuring compliance with all safety policies and building rules during events and includes conducting site tours for prospective and booked clients, showcasing the venue's wide array of functionality and operational capabilities.
Candidates for this role must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Event Planning, or a related field, along with 3 to 5 years of related work experience. Job Duties
- Manage all logistics for corporate and private events
- assist in determining event strategies and plans to accomplish event success
- determine needs and resolve problems by making strategic, business-oriented, and client-serving decisions
- manage facility staffing needs and communicate event requirements with internal departments such as security, operations, and guest services
- instruct contracted staff on event days
- manage small to mid-size events with subcontractors, decorating companies, audio-visual companies, food and beverage providers, contractors, and others
- develop and manage successful business relationships with clients and vendors to provide exceptional customer service and increase future bookings
- prepare paperwork for event planning including work orders, floor plans, event reports, and final invoicing
- manage event expenses from contracting through final settlement
- assist other team members with events including NFL and NCAA as needed
- monitor events to enforce building rules, policies, and safety procedures
- conduct site tours for prospective and booked clients
