Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in product development or 3 years as a chef
  • Strong knowledge of food production and quality systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in product testing and recipe development

Job Duties

  • Spends 50-60% of time in the test kitchen preparing product
  • Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the test kitchen
  • Researches and catalogs new ideas and trends, replacing problem ingredients in existing recipes
  • Supports new product development across all business segments
  • Assists with new product research including assembling, sampling, and gathering focus group data
  • Develops and communicates new product recipe cards and prepares food cost calculations
  • Assists with photo styling and product presentations for marketing and training
  • Provides information to Operations and Training about new product effectiveness
  • Participates in specification testing on products and operations
  • Performs routine product testing and quality assurance
  • Works cross-functionally to provide product knowledge and consultation
