Job Description
Goldman Sachs is a globally recognized investment banking, securities, and investment management firm that has been at the forefront of the financial industry since its founding in 1869. With headquarters in New York and offices spread across the world, Goldman Sachs serves a diverse range of clients, including corporations, governments, and individuals, providing innovative financial services and products designed to foster growth and economic development. The firm is dedicated not only to delivering superior financial results but also to fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and professional development for its employees.
Within Goldman Sachs, the Corporate and Workplace Solutions (CWS) division consists of two main teams: Corporate Services and Real Estate (CSRE) and the Office of Global Security (OGS). These teams are essential to the firm’s operational success and safety, managing the firm’s extensive global real estate portfolio, offering market development, document management, hospitality services, and ensuring physical security, fire safety, and crisis management. Their combined efforts are aimed at driving productivity, enabling smooth flow of business, enhancing workplace experiences, and protecting Goldman Sachs’ people, assets, and reputation. The CSRE team is committed to creating and maintaining the world’s best workplace environment for Goldman Sachs employees globally, while OGS provides critical security functions.
The role of Vice President - Corporate Events within the Corporate and Workplace Solutions division focuses on leading the oversight, planning, and execution of high-profile events for the Goldman Sachs Executive Office (EO) space primarily in the Americas. Events organized by this team serve as vital platforms for bringing together key stakeholders who contribute to advancing Goldman Sachs’ strategic initiatives and programs. This position requires a professional who excels at service excellence in event planning and delivery, vendor management, commercial discipline, risk management, and overall event strategy implementation.
This leadership role involves a deep collaboration with senior executives and the Foundation team within Goldman Sachs EO to ensure that the events not only meet but exceed expectations, enhancing the firm’s brand both internally and externally. The Vice President will be responsible for setting an annual business strategy and calendar for the events, maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders including top executives, and developing event concepts from inception through to completion. These responsibilities include selecting appropriate venues, drafting detailed event run-of-show schedules, specifying production requirements, staffing needs, vendor selection, and overseeing the seamless execution of large-scale annual and recurring events.
Strategic planning and operational management are critical components of the role — advising on financial aspects, risk factors, and compliance while maintaining strict controls through budgeting, approvals, contract reviews, and reporting. The Vice President will also guide agency-based project managers on best practices and standards and ensure that all events comply with regulatory and internal controls. On-site event execution oversight guarantees that the planned strategy translates into successful and well-organized events on the ground.
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate event management within a fast-paced organization, with demonstrated expertise in producing heavily produced, large-scale, and multi-day events. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, negotiation and commercial acumen, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion, reflecting Goldman Sachs’ core values. Familiarity with government organizations and media is considered a plus, enhancing the ability to manage external relationships effectively.
The role is based in Jersey City, New Jersey, and offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $250,000, complemented by a discretionary bonus at fiscal year-end for active employees. This opportunity at Goldman Sachs provides a unique platform to lead prestigious corporate events that align with the firm’s objectives and contribute meaningfully to its global footprint, while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package dedicated to employee well-being, career growth, and personal development.
