Job Description

Sweetgreen is a plant-forward food company dedicated to building healthier communities by connecting people to real, fresh food. Founded with a vision for a healthier tomorrow, Sweetgreen has grown into a beloved restaurant brand that combines fast-casual dining with a commitment to sustainability and wellness. The company emphasizes the importance of nourishing the planet as well as its customers, seeking to create a positive impact at every level from farm to table. Sweetgreen provides equal employment opportunities and a supportive environment for all team members, valuing diversity and inclusion across gender identity, race, age, disability status, veteran status, and other protected classifications. They participate in programs like E-Verify to comply with employment eligibility rules and offer accommodations to employees where necessary. Sweetgreen’s culture encourages growth and development, offering career pathways such as advancement to General Manager in as little as 36 months for top-performing individuals. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, paid vacation, paid parental leave, 401k options, and free healthy meal shifts. The company fosters a community-oriented workplace where employees are passionate about food quality and guest experience, embedded with the mission to rewrite the future of fast food.

As a Sweetgreen Team Member, you will act as an ambassador of this mission, contributing to the restaurant’s smooth daily operations while delivering outstanding hospitality. Your role is crucial in ensuring guests receive a memorable experience at every touchpoint, from greeting customers and sharing menu knowledge to food preparation and maintaining sanitary workspaces. The position involves diverse responsibilities such as precise and efficient food prep—portioning, mixing, chopping, building salads to exact standards—and multifaceted customer interaction. You will also manage the use of kitchen tools and equipment safely and assist with inventory management by restocking ingredients during shifts. Effective team communication and multitasking during busy hours are essential to maintaining a safe, organized, and positive work environment. This role suits individuals with restaurant, retail, or hospitality backgrounds who are quick learners, reliable, and adaptable to various stations. Physical demands include lifting moderate weights, bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, and maintaining coordination for handling kitchen operations. At least 12 hours per week of availability is required along with authorization to work in the United States. Joining Sweetgreen means not only growing your own future but also contributing to a greener, healthier planet through food and community connection.
