As a Sweetgreen Team Member, you will serve as a vital ambassador for this mission, delivering exceptional guest service while supporting the smooth daily operation of the restaurant. This role focuses on a combination of customer interaction, food preparation, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the station. You will be responsible for preparing fresh, portioned ingredients, assembling salads quickly and accurately according to recipe standards, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient customer experience at every stage. The position demands a hands-on approach combined with strong communication skills, particularly the use of clear verbal cues to coordinate effectively with team members and maintain safety standards.

The job requires flexibility to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, including the ability to manage physical tasks like lifting, bending, reaching, and squatting as necessary in a fast-paced environment. Job Requirements

  • must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
  • routinely handle items weighing 5-25 lbs and occasionally 40-50 lbs
  • capable of bending, reaching, squatting, and pulling as required
  • possess manual dexterity for typing, operating tools, and managing cleaning equipment
  • able to navigate stairs, doors, ramps, elevators, and operate kitchen machinery
  • able to perform repetitive motions such as chopping, assembling, and cleaning
  • maintain energy and efficiency throughout long shifts including peak times
  • demonstrate physical coordination for balance, multitasking, and handling bulky items
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • authorized to work in the United States
  • capable of standing and walking for extended periods including moving between work areas

Job Qualifications

  • restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience with strong customer service skills

Job Duties

  • prepare and portion ingredients including mixing, chopping, and squeezing
  • build salads quickly and accurately ensuring correct portions and presentation
  • greet customers, take orders, and provide friendly, efficient service
  • maintain a clean and organized workspace following food safety and hygiene standards
  • safely operate kitchen tools and equipment including knives, blenders, and POS systems
  • restock and rotate ingredients and supplies throughout shifts
  • communicate clearly with team members using verbal cues to ensure coordination and safety
  • follow recipe guides to maintain order accuracy and handle allergens appropriately
  • multitask efficiently during prep, service, and cleaning, especially during peak hours
