Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics or transportation business
  • Experience with Dangerous Goods/HAZ-MAT certification desired
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software
  • Ability to handle customer and vendor disputes professionally
  • Must be able to complete shipping documents electronically and manually
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must pass pre employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to comply with TSA and company security regulations

Job Duties

  • Determine efficient and cost effective transportation options through internal and external suppliers
  • Conduct assignments evaluating transportation options including pricing, timing, availability, and volume
  • Serve as front-line communicator for customer and vendor disputes using exceptional customer service
  • Manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Identify shipments at risk of service failure and ensure on time delivery
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service providers
  • Work flexible hours and various shifts
  • Research and utilize cost effective routings for airlines, line-haul, pick-up/delivery, and scheduling
  • Document all shipments with detailed trace notes and accurate data entry including special customer requests and regulatory documents
  • Maintain on-time service integrity with a goal of 100 percent on time delivery
  • Be available for 24-hour on call rotation when requested
  • Communicate issues impacting shipments promptly and escalate to management when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with TSA regulations and security procedures
  • Utilize Internet tracking applications to monitor shipment status
  • Comply with company security procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
