Job Description

The Toronto Blue Jays are a professional Major League Baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario, renowned for their competitive spirit and dedication to providing an exceptional fan experience. The In-Game Entertainment and Promotions Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Toronto Blue Jays Florida Operations and the Dunedin Blue Jays. This full-time position is centered at TD Ballpark, the home stadium for the Dunedin Blue Jays, and supports the Toronto Blue Jays during Spring Training. The coordinator is tasked with meticulously planning, coordinating, and executing all in-game entertainment activities designed to enhance the game-day experience for fans. Responsibilities extend beyond in-game entertainment to include the orchestration of themed promotional nights and fan giveaways, which are crucial for keeping the atmosphere exciting and engaging. The coordinator partners closely with various internal teams such as the ticketing department, marketing, player development, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.

The role involves year-round responsibilities that change with the seasons. In the off-season, the coordinator engages in tasks such as preparing bid lists, designing giveaway items within budget constraints, assisting with Jr Jays Kids Club activations, and creating videoboard graphics. During Spring Training, the coordinator leads the set up and management of PA Booth operations, scripts all in-game content, schedules rehearsals, and produces all games in conjunction with team leadership. Throughout the Florida State League season, coordination extends to executing marketing messages, producing home games, managing playlists and music, and supporting MiLB TV broadcast operations.

The role demands a highly motivated and adaptable individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and can meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude. The coordinator must be capable of working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, reflecting the dynamic nature of professional baseball schedules. Job Requirements

  • Education or experience in event management, sports marketing or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in entertainment coordination or promotional event planning beneficial
  • Knowledge of videoboard and audio-visual equipment preferred
  • Ability to operate PA systems and broadcast equipment advantageous
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Physical fitness to meet job demands such as lifting 40 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Daktronics or similar videoboard equipment is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Office 365, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Job Duties

  • Prepare bid lists, gather samples and help design giveaway items within budget
  • Assist Jr Jays Kids Club with Saturday activations
  • Create and maintain videoboard message request website
  • Lead planning of annual Welcome Back Blue Jays event activations and experiences
  • Create new videoboard graphics for Dunedin Blue Jays and Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training
  • Set up PA Booth and oversee operations on gamedays and special events
  • Prepare scripting and in-game content for Dunedin Blue Jays and Spring Training
  • Schedule trainings and rehearsals with Toronto team and Florida leadership
  • Coordinate pre-game ceremonies and in-game live entertainment with Ticket Team and General Manager
  • Produce all Spring Training and Dunedin Blue Jays home games
  • Assist with MiLB TV broadcast troubleshooting and communication
  • Prepare batting practice, walkup music and stadium playlists
  • Work with all departments to promote and execute marketing messages in-game
  • Plan and execute team media day
  • Create and edit graphic and video content for videoboard
  • Ensure concessions menus are built and loaded
  • Create and maintain content on the Beltrees Board
  • Create website graphics and make web edits
  • Order supplies for PA Booth, Game Entertainment and promotional nights
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures
  • Plan new in-game promotions, activations and video concepts
  • Test PA equipment year-round and ensure software is up to date
  • Research new technology and league trends to enhance experiences
  • Attend community events and help pass out collateral
