Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related field
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and job-specific software applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including outside normal business hours as directed
  • Capacity to lift a minimum of 30 lbs individually and 70 lbs as part of a team
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach intermittently during work shifts
  • Proficient in completing air and ground shipping documentation electronically and manually
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • No sponsorship for employment authorization
  • Ability to handle customer and vendor disputes professionally
  • Must comply with TSA and DOT regulations
  • Ability to participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Knowledge of basic geography of the continental United States
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work under pressure
  • Physical ability to perform physically demanding tasks as described
  • Must maintain professionalism and a positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related business
  • Experience with Dangerous Goods/HAZ-MAT certification desired
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-specific software
  • Ability to complete air and ground shipping documents electronically and manually
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, cooperative demeanor
  • Professional appearance and communication skills
  • Effective problem solving, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak English
  • Knowledge of continental United States geography
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Evaluate pricing and transportation options to provide efficient and cost-effective forwarding services
  • Conduct work assignments including evaluating transportation options, pricing, timing, availability, and volume with management direction
  • Serve as front-line communicator for customer and vendor disputes, resolving complaints with exceptional customer service and discretion
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Identify shipments at risk of service failure and take control to ensure on-time delivery
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service providers
  • Work flexible hours and various shifts
  • Research and utilize the most efficient and cost-effective shipping routes
  • Document all shipments with detailed trace notes and accurate data entry, including special requests and compliance documents
  • Maintain on-time service integrity with a goal of 100% on-time delivery
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation when requested
  • Communicate promptly about shipment issues to internal and external customers and escalate to management as needed
  • Ensure full compliance with all TSA regulations and security programs
  • Utilize internet tracking tools to update and monitor shipment status
  • Move freight and materials manually or using equipment
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions for assignments
  • Comply with company security procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
