Job Description
River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a well-established private psychiatric facility serving adults, adolescents, and children since 1970. The Dietary – Cook/Porter position at River Oaks Hospital is a vital role that supports the daily food service functions within the hospital's food and nutrition services department. This position is designed to be cross-trained, enabling the individual to effectively perform duties as a cook and porter. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Department Manager and in cooperation with other team members to maintain a high standard of quality service. This job demands a strong team-oriented approach, dedication to service excellence, and the ability to provide compassionate and professional care to a diverse patient population. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Ability to read, write and follow written instruction and recipes
- Experience in preparing food in bulk quantities preferred
- Previous experience, preferably in a hospital, hotel or other institutional setting
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Provide service to all populations while demonstrating Service Excellence Standards
