Harmons has built a reputation for providing customers with an exceptional grocery shopping experience, complemented by unique offerings such as the Cooking School, which serves as a hub for food enthusiasts eager to learn new culinary skills, enjoy interactive cooking classes, and participate in special food-related events. As part of the broader Harmons ecosystem, the Cooking School upholds the company's core values of excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement, ensuring that each class and event delivers both education and enjoyment to participants.

This full-time position within the Cooking School is integral to maintaining and enhancing these high standards. Additionally, the position involves direct interaction with customers, processing payments, coordinating private events, and supporting the execution of events to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

This role demands excellent communication skills, as it involves regular interaction through phone, email, and face-to-face engagements with diverse groups of customers and colleagues. The candidate is also expected to actively contribute to the development of new class content, track performance metrics, and represent the Cooking School at manager meetings when necessary. A highly organized and proactive approach is crucial, alongside the ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a personable and approachable demeanor.

The ideal candidate will have relevant educational background, such as a two-year degree or technical training in culinary arts, marketing, or a related field, complemented by experience in catering or related food service environments. Certifications such as TIPS and a Food Handler's Permit are required, highlighting a commitment to safety and food hygiene standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong phone and email etiquette, will support effective communication and business operations.

Physically, the role involves active participation in the event environment, including setting up, assisting the chef during classes, and cleaning afterward. It requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and maneuver objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The Cooking School values a professional, positive attitude and prides itself on fostering an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and encourages employees to contribute their unique perspectives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to blend culinary passion with business acumen, community engagement, and customer service excellence, contributing to the vibrant culinary culture that Harmons Cooking School has cultivated.
