The organization prides itself on its dedicated team of professionals who are deeply committed to the belief in the potential of every individual they serve. DDI fosters a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous growth, making it an inspiring place to build a meaningful career.
The role of Cook/Housekeeper within DDI’s Adult Residential Services is a vital position that combines meal preparation with household maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the residents. This part-time position offers shifts Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm, with hourly pay ranging from $18.50 to $20.35. As a Cook/Housekeeper, you will directly support individuals with disabilities by providing nutritious, well-prepared meals aligned with nutritionist-approved menus, while also maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the residential facility. The job entails heavy cleaning tasks including bathrooms, kitchens, and common living areas, as well as shopping and meal planning to ensure proper food rotation and adherence to dietary guidelines.
Working at DDI means joining a purpose-driven organization that values compassion, respect, and collaboration. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with the people supported and their families, contributing to their quality of life in a tangible way. Beyond the daily duties, you will also participate in organizing special events, reporting maintenance needs, and adhering strictly to safety regulations and organizational policies. The role is both physically engaging and emotionally rewarding, requiring the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and actively engage in household maintenance activities.
DDI supports its workforce with comprehensive paid training to equip employees with the necessary skills and knowledge. The organization also offers exceptional benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and employee assistance programs. Employees have access to a 403(b) retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities within the agency. These benefits reflect DDI’s commitment to the well-being and growth of its staff.
Ideal candidates are empathetic, patient, and compassionate with a positive and enthusiastic approach to their work. Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential. If you are passionate about making a difference and working in a supportive and appreciative environment, DDI encourages you to apply and become part of their family. When joining DDI, you become part of a community that values belonging and fosters a culture of mutual respect and inclusion, where every employee’s contributions are valued and their potential nurtured.
