The Cook/Floater role at Thomas Cuisine is a vital, full-time position located at 42 Future Way in Draper, Utah, offering a competitive hourly wage of $17 to $18. Scheduled from Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., this role offers consistent weekday hours with the benefits of working within a team that prioritizes quality, efficiency, and collaboration. The Cook/Floater provides versatile culinary support by rotating among various kitchen stations such as grill, saute, prep, and pantry, depending on daily staffing needs and operational demands. This flexibility ensures continuous and seamless kitchen operations, especially during peak hours, staff absences, or special events. The role requires proficiency in cooking, strong multitasking abilities, and a willingness to adapt quickly to different culinary tasks, which is crucial in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include preparing food according to standardized recipes, maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, assisting with opening and closing duties, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting catering or special event needs. The position demands physical endurance to sustain long periods of standing, exposure to kitchen elements such as heat, fumes, and moderate noise, and the capability to lift trays and perform repetitive tasks. As part of the Thomas Cuisine team, employees are encouraged to engage in a collaborative kitchen environment focused on producing high-quality dishes that contribute to the company’s mission of REAL food and excellent service.
Thomas Cuisine supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package featuring life/work integration policies such as paid bereavement, parental, baby bonding, and elder care leave, along with paid time off accrual and recognized paid holidays. The health and wellness benefits include multiple medical plans through Blue Cross, coverage for prescription, dental, and vision care, as well as reimbursement for wellness massages. Financial wellness offerings encompass a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, company-paid basic life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment policies, and opportunities for voluntary disability and life insurance coverage. The company promotes a supportive and growth-oriented workplace culture, ensuring employees have opportunities to develop and advance their careers while contributing to an impactful culinary mission.
