This role demands a skilled professional who can adeptly navigate kitchen operations, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and expertly utilize various cooking techniques and ingredients. The Cook/Chef will collaborate closely with kitchen staff to innovate and refine menu selections while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation. Key responsibilities include setting up workstations, preparing ingredients, cooking and portioning meals for different service periods, and ensuring dishes are visually appealing before serving. Job Requirements
- Continuous standing/walking and other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Very good communication skills
Job Duties
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to create new menu items and improve existing recipes
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
- Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Follow all company HACCP and safety policies
