As a Cook at Aramark, you will step into a dynamic role that transcends traditional food preparation. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines, while being encouraged to experiment with flavors and cuisines. The job involves setting up workstations, preparing ingredients, and performing cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and more. Your ability to safely handle utensils and kitchen equipment, maintain cleanliness and sanitation, and adhere to food safety standards is essential.

You will contribute to ensuring food safety compliance and security of company assets. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
