Job Description

Proof of the Pudding is the premier provider of food and beverage services for University of Georgia sporting events. The company specializes in delivering an exceptional culinary experience across a variety of sports occasions including football, basketball, baseball, and many others held at the university. With a strong commitment to quality and superb execution, Proof of the Pudding manages premium catering services tailored specifically to support large-scale sporting events that draw passionate fans, athletes, and university staff.

Operating primarily in the vibrant environment of the University of Georgia, the company prides itself on providing not only excellent food but also high-level service that enhances the overall event experience. From pre-event preparation to event-day delivery and post-event cleanup, every aspect of their catering operations is meticulously managed. Their culinary team works closely with the university’s staff and officials to ensure all events run smoothly, food safety standards are met, and every guest enjoys top-quality meals.

The role being offered is that of a Cook, an essential position within Proof of the Pudding’s premium culinary department stationed at the University of Georgia. This full-time position requires strong culinary skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest food quality standards during exciting and fast-paced university sporting events. The Cook will work directly under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, contributing significantly to the successful catering of game day events. Responsibilities include preparing menu items as per recipes, assisting in event-day execution such as running food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting culinary management with various tasks as needed.

Cooks play a vital role in ensuring that the food is prepared timely and presented well, especially under the high volume and pressure conditions typical of large sporting venues. The candidate must be a phenomenal team player who thrives in a team-oriented environment. Experience in kitchens or stadium catering is preferred but not mandatory, provided the candidate is capable of delivering consistent results. Working at Proof of the Pudding means being part of a company that values safety, professionalism, and dedication to service.

The working environment involves frequent standing, moving around kitchen spaces, handling typical kitchen tools and equipment, and traveling between venues across greater Atlanta. Uniform adherence and safety compliance, including wearing non-slip shoes, are mandatory. This position offers not only the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced sports catering environment but also to develop specialized skills related to high-volume cooking and event food service.

Proof of the Pudding emphasizes core competencies such as business acumen, dedication, integrity, safety compliance, teamwork, effective communication, initiative, adaptability, and a strong service orientation. Upholding these values ensures every event is successful and meets the high standards expected by the university and its guests. We are an equal opportunity employer encouraging all qualified individuals to apply and grow with our expanding culinary team.
