Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
good communication skills in English both reading and speaking
strong interpersonal skills
current Food Handler's Permit from Kansas City, MO, Independence, Jackson County, or Clay County or willing to get one within 30 days of hire
ability to follow recipes, scale portions, and operate large kitchen equipment
physical ability to handle the demands of a busy kitchen, including lifting and carrying hot containers

Job Duties

Prepare meals from standardized recipes for patients, residents, staff, and visitors
operate large kitchen equipment like ovens, mixers, steamers, and more safely and confidently
use portion scales, measure ingredients, and ensure food consistency and quality
follow all food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
communicate with the kitchen team and supervisors to keep meal service smooth and on time
lift, twist, bend, and move containers of hot food
