Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • willingness to train with no prior experience required
  • at least one year of culinary experience in a quality and high volume kitchen preferred
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to maintain high standards of sanitation
  • ability to work onsite full-time
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to perform under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Experience supervising a team
  • culinary experience in a quality and high volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
  • complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • food handlers certification preferred
  • friendly and helpful customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation
  • ensuring meal services begin on time
  • ensuring that portion, appearance and temperature for all food items is appropriate and of high quality
  • supervising team members to maintain efficiency and adherence to standards
  • managing workflow in a fast-paced correctional dining environment
  • monitoring food safety and hygiene compliance
  • providing friendly and helpful customer service
