- knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- ability to train and develop staff
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- experience in managing food inventory and minimizing waste
- high school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Train employees
- plan, assign and direct work
- appraise performance
- reward and discipline associates
- address complaints and resolve problems
- advise management of purchasing requirements to minimize waste and avoid product shortages
- use approved food recipes and production standards for quality and portion control
- operate and clean equipment according to procedures
- store, label and date food items per policy ensuring proper food rotation
- follow HACCP guidelines for food safety
- operate food-service equipment safely
- help serve meals and receive customer feedback
- perform other assigned duties
