The Food Service Director role at Summit in Albany, Oregon offers a unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to lead and manage the food service department within a corrections environment. This full-time, onsite position is classified as non-exempt and is compensated hourly with a competitive wage of $28.50 per hour. As the Food Service Director, you will spearhead the operations of the food service team, overseeing all aspects to ensure uninterrupted meal service to clients and customers. Your leadership will encompass managing associates, including hiring, training, and ensuring their adherence to culinary, safety, and sanitation policies. Budgeting responsibilities are substantial, requiring you to manage ingredient procurement and maintain financial controls to meet departmental targets and forecasts.
In addition to operational oversight, you will collaborate closely with district managers and other departments to navigate both technical and administrative demands of the dining service. Exceptional customer service skills are essential as you address client needs and foster a positive dining experience. The role demands thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications and experience in industrial cooking. - at least two years of experience coordinating food service operations
- previous experience with industrial cooking
- excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives
- ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction
- experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications

Job Duties
- managing all functions of the food service department and its resources
- manage and lead a team of associates including hiring and training new employees
- ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations
- budgeting for the department including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts
- conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service
- addressing customer service needs
