This Full-Time onsite position as a Cook Supervisor at Summit’s correctional facility in Woodstown, New Jersey, presents a unique leadership opportunity in a fast-paced food service setting. The Cook Supervisor role is central to maintaining high standards of culinary excellence, sanitation, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the management team, you will supervise kitchen staff, lead by example, and coordinate daily food preparation activities. With a focus on scratch cooking in a volume-driven environment, this position demands a high level of culinary skill as well as the ability to train, motivate, and oversee employees. You will ensure that meals are prepared on time, meet quality benchmarks, and comply with safety standards. Job Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of culinary experience in a high volume food service environment
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to instruct and train kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to work onsite full time
Job Qualifications
- At least one years' prior culinary experience in a quality and high volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
- Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
- Experience supervising a team
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High-level product knowledge and customer service skills
- Food handlers certification preferred
Job Duties
- Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation
- Ensuring meal services begin on time
- Ensuring portion, appearance and temperature for all food items are appropriate and of high quality
- Supervising and coordinating the work of kitchen employees to maintain efficiency and standards
- Managing daily kitchen operations to meet established safety and quality protocols
- Monitoring inventory and supplies to support continuous food preparation activities
- Enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations
