Job Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks per Air Force and DoD policy
- completion of Child Care Tier 1 background investigation
- ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 40 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for extended periods
- ability to obtain and maintain current immunizations including annual influenza vaccination
- completion of assigned training such as Food Handlers certification
- U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident for at least 3 years residing near the job location
- at least 18 years old at time of hire
- males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service
- direct deposit required
- satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify)
- meet qualification and background eligibility requirements
- pass favorable pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 18 months experience working in childcare or youth programs
- completion of DoD approved competency-training courses
- possession of child development associate credential or related youth development credential
- associate degree with relevant coursework in child-related fields or bachelor's degree with major in early childhood education, child development, or related fields
- ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- eligibility per hiring preferences or priority consideration
Job Duties
- Plan weekly or monthly work schedules
- assign work to personnel and tasks to be performed
- explain work requirements, methods, and procedures
- review work while in progress or on completion
- change work plans and assignments as necessary
- schedule and approve leave requests
- recommend performance expectations and make final appraisals of work
- counsel employees on performance improvement and new work techniques
- investigate and resolve grievances and complaints
- recommend disciplinary actions
- initiate hiring and separating employees
- ensure compliance with housekeeping, sanitation, conduct, and safety regulations
- train employees and ensure compliance with training requirements
- prepare meals by roasting, broiling, baking, boiling, steaming, and stewing meats, fish, and poultry
- prepare soups, stocks, gravies, sauces, and baked goods without packaged products
- adjust standardized recipes
- ensure compliance with USDA and childcare regulations
- supervise cooks and food service workers
- coordinate cooking multiple meal items
- purchase and order food supplies
- maintain inventory levels
- record menu substitutions and inform supervisor
- budget for yearly food expenses
- conduct safety and sanitation inspections
- perform monthly inventories and verify accuracy
