With a commitment to providing incarcerated individuals with access to delicious and nutritious meals, Summit plays a vital role in the correctional foodservice industry. The company emphasizes quality, health, and social engagement, ensuring that food services not only meet nutritional standards but also foster positive interaction during mealtimes in correctional facilities. As a part of Elior North America, a leader in the foodservice sector, Summit benefits from extensive resources and a robust support system focused on employee growth and customer satisfaction.
Summit is currently seeking an experienced Cook Supervisor to join its correctional facility team located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, onsite position offering an hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $24.00. The Cook Supervisor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within a correctional setting, coordinating and supervising food service employees to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality. The role requires a hands-on leader who can train and instruct staff on proper food handling, culinary techniques, sanitation standards, and food service operations.
In this role, the Cook Supervisor will be integral to ensuring that all meal services start on time and that food preparation adheres to portion control, appearance, and temperature standards. The position demands attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while providing excellent customer service. Supervising a team effectively, the Cook Supervisor will support operational goals by ensuring that meals served are safe, nutritious, and appealing. This position offers those with culinary experience an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills within a unique and meaningful sector while contributing to the well-being of a diverse population.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least one year of prior culinary experience in a high-volume, quality establishment that emphasizes scratch cooking. Familiarity with culinary methods, techniques, and standards is essential, as is the capability to train and lead a team. A Food Handlers certification is preferred but not mandatory. This role allows for professional growth within Elior North America, a company committed to diversity, inclusion, and ongoing employee development. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees, along with additional voluntary insurance offerings, commuter benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, and tuition reimbursement.
At Elior North America, the company values diversity and equal employment opportunities, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds and abilities to apply. Working with Summit and Elior North America provides a platform for career advancement and skill development in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. This position is ideal for culinary professionals seeking to make a difference through their expertise while enjoying a stable and rewarding career in foodservice management within the corrections segment.
