The role of Cook Supervisor at Summit’s correctional facility kitchen team located in West Chester, Pennsylvania offers a pivotal leadership position where you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising kitchen employees to ensure efficiency and adherence to established culinary and sanitation standards. This is a full-time onsite position with a competitive pay range of $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, and includes a lucrative $1500 sign-on bonus. This position requires an experienced cook supervisor capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your duties will include instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation, assuring meals start on time, and maintaining high standards for food portion size, appearance, temperature, and quality. The role demands excellent multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and hands-on leadership to ensure both culinary excellence and efficient kitchen operations.

As a Cook Supervisor, your work significantly impacts the correctional community by providing inmates with well-prepared meals and facilitating social interaction during meals. Your experience in high-volume, quality culinary environments, combined with knowledge of proper culinary methods and techniques, will enable you to supervise a team effectively. Supervisory experience is essential along with an ability to deliver friendly and helpful customer service. Additional preferred qualifications include Food Handlers certification, further enhancing your ability to maintain the highest food safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • must meet all facility security clearance requirements
  • reliable attendance and ability to work assigned schedule

Job Qualifications

  • At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
  • complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
  • excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks at once
  • experience supervising a team
  • high-level product knowledge
  • ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service
  • food handlers certification preferred
