The role available at the Summit facility in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is the position of Cook Supervisor. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a culinary professional with experience in high-volume and quality food service environments, especially with an emphasis on scratch cooking techniques. The Cook Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing kitchen operations within a correctional facility, ensuring that all meals are prepared to exacting quality, portion control, and adherence to food safety standards. The individual will foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, promoting attention to detail and multi-tasking skills critical to managing simultaneous tasks without compromising food quality or safety. The position offers a competitive hourly wage range of $17.00 to $20.00 and includes numerous benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees, retirement plans, paid time off, and other valuable perks. Aspiring candidates who demonstrate culinary expertise, prior supervisory experience, and a commitment to customer service excellence in a correctional food service setting will find this role rewarding and impactful. As part of Summit and Elior North America, the Cook Supervisor will contribute not only to meal preparation but also to enhancing the overall dining experience for incarcerated individuals, ultimately supporting the social environment within the institution.
