Summit is part of Elior North America, a leading foodservice management company committed to diversity, employee development, and growth opportunities. Elior North America is an equal opportunity employer that values inclusivity and supports employees of all backgrounds and abilities. The company takes pride in cultivating an environment where staff can build valuable skills and advance their careers, whether in corporate roles or specialized brand segments.

The Cook Supervisor role at Summit's correctional facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is a full-time onsite position that offers a competitive compensation range of $19.00 - $20.00 per hour. This role requires an experienced cook supervisor to manage and oversee food preparation activities within a fast-paced, dynamic environment typical of correctional food service. The Cook Supervisor will coordinate the work of culinary staff, ensuring that high standards of food quality, sanitation, and operational efficiency are met consistently. A significant aspect of this role is supervising a team and providing training in proper culinary methods and food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in scratch cooking within high-volume establishments and exhibit keen attention to detail while adeptly multitasking.

Beyond coordinating meal services that meet established portion, appearance, and temperature guidelines, the Cook Supervisor ensures that all employees are well-instructed in sanitation and food service protocols. Being part of a correctional environment, the role also demands excellent customer service skills to provide respectful and helpful interactions within the institution. Supervising and supporting staff to maintain consistent, timely meal preparation is crucial. Additionally, the Cook Supervisor contributes to a positive workplace culture by delivering quality meals that support the health and well-being of facility residents.

Summit offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, voluntary accident and critical illness plans, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, 401k retirement plans, sick leave, holiday pay with nine paid holidays, tuition reimbursement for full-time employees, and paid time off. These benefits, combined with the opportunity to develop professionally in a supportive environment, make this role an attractive career opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to make an impact in a crucial social-service setting.
