Job Description

Resorts World Las Vegas is a premier luxury resort and casino located on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Renowned for offering a world-class entertainment, dining, and hospitality experience, Resorts World combines modern amenities with exceptional personalized service to create unforgettable guest experiences. As a large-scale resort and hospitality establishment, it caters to a diverse clientele encompassing leisure travelers, business guests, and high-end visitors seeking sophisticated dining and entertainment options. The resort prides itself on its commitment to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction, ensuring that every member of the team contributes to a welcoming and secure environment. It embraces a culture where every team member is considered an ambassador of the brand, upholding values that prioritize safety, security, cleanliness, and an outstanding guest experience.

The role of the Cook at Stubborn Seed, a distinguished restaurant within Resorts World Las Vegas, is pivotal in supporting the kitchen chef and the broader kitchen team to deliver high-quality culinary offerings. This position involves working across multiple kitchen stations, including areas such as sauté, fry/steam, and garde manger, providing flexibility and support as needed. The Cook is responsible for preparing food items following precise recipes and accommodating guest requests while maintaining the highest standards of food presentation and quality.

A successful candidate for this position will be adept at managing food preparation tasks efficiently and collaboratively while adhering strictly to health regulations as set forth by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD). In addition to preparing and plating food, the Cook ensures inventory accuracy by monitoring food and supply levels and communicating restocking needs to management. This role requires the use of personal devices for operational tasks, document review, and communication related to job duties, reflecting a modern and connected kitchen environment.

Working at Resorts World Las Vegas as a Cook means undertaking physically engaging duties that involve considerable walking, standing, interacting with cooking equipment such as ovens and fryers, and working under varying conditions of noise, temperature, and air quality. The position demands physical stamina including bending, reaching, and safely transporting or maneuvering items up to 50 pounds. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to comply with company policies, job descriptions, and safety protocols while contributing positively to the resort's core values: being ambassadors of the property, prioritizing safety and security, maintaining environmental cleanliness (EVS), and enhancing the guest experience.

Employment with Resorts World Las Vegas offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and luxurious environment where culinary skills are honed and teamwork is highly valued. Prospective cooks should anticipate varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the operational needs of a 24/7 hospitality venue. The resort seeks individuals with compatibility in knife skills, the ability to translate recipes into dishes accurately, and a minimum of one year of cooking experience within full-service or fine dining settings.

Overall, this role is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to advance their careers within a prestigious resort setting that values skill development, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
