Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • Ability to understand measurements
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Minimum three years experience as a cook in relevant establishments
  • Understanding of basic cooking methods
  • Ability to plan and organize work
  • Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, and standards
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Some knowledge of nutrition and diet

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution
  • Understanding of basic cooking methods
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively
  • Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition and diet

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items as per standardized recipes including soups, stocks, sautéed, fried, and baked items
  • Determine the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus
  • Obtain supplies from storage areas in a timely manner for meal production
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations
  • Follow nutrition, safety, and sanitary standards in food preparation and service
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Monitor kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
