Job Duties

  • Prepare delicious, nourishing and well-balanced meals to meet daily nutritional and special dietary needs
  • Follow standardized recipes
  • Prepare foods that correspond to menu cycles developed by registered dietitians
  • Cook or prepare appetizing, well-presented, and nutritionally adequate meals served at proper temperatures and appropriate times
  • Use food supplies and equipment efficiently and economically to prevent waste
  • Prepare and maintain food alternatives to accommodate guest choices and refusals
  • Supervise culinary staff with regard to food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning
  • Supervise culinary center's employees in the absence of the chef or dietary manager
