It offers competitive wages, a generous benefits package, and a workplace that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Cook Lead position at Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital presents a dynamic and vital role within the Culinary Services department. This full-time role, typically scheduled for 40 hours per week with 8-hour shifts including variable shift assignments primarily from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, requires a driven culinary professional who can not only prepare and cook foods for multiple settings like the cafeteria, patient meals, and catering services but also lead the culinary team in the absence of other leadership staff. The pay rate ranges from $19.95 to $26.38 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience, underscoring the value placed on expertise and skill.

The Cook Lead also manages inventory through proper product rotation and maintains organized workspaces to optimize efficiency.
This position requires interaction with a diverse clientele, including patients, retail customers, and catering recipients. The ability to communicate effectively, provide exceptional customer service, and operate cooking equipment safely and efficiently is critical. Additionally, the Cook Lead may undertake ancillary duties such as delivering patient meals, cashiering, stocking supplies, and operating both manual and automatic ware-washing machines.
The role demands flexibility and commitment, as scheduling will include weekend rotation and variable working hours to support the department's business needs. Intermountain Health emphasizes a culture of wellness, recognizing the physical and mental demands of culinary professionals in a healthcare environment and offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision coverage, and education assistance, aimed at supporting employees' overall health and career development.
