Job Requirements
- regular attendance to perform work on site during scheduled shifts is required
- ability to obtain ServeSafe certification within six months of hire
- ability to obtain HACCP training after hire
- physical ability to lift, bend, kneel, reach, and stand for long periods
- ability to interact effectively with others
- ability to operate computers and other office equipment
- ability to see and read computer monitors and documents
Job Qualifications
- ServeSafe certification within six months of hire
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in healthcare food service preferred
- minimum six months experience in quantity food preparation preferred
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- ability to follow food safety standards and regulations
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- knowledge of HACCP guidelines
Job Duties
- Lead the work of associates in the department
- act as a resource and provide technical support
- assist with creating new and substitute menu items
- review daily menus to determine food and supply quantities needed
- prepare food for cafeteria and catering using creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness
- educate and coach associates to comply with recipe standards and demonstrate cooking techniques
- monitor and replenish food for cafeteria, catering, or patient trays
- ensure food handling and storage comply with Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
- operate kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
- record refrigerator temperatures and ensure equipment is in good working condition
- monitor supply and equipment inventory
- notify leadership of equipment repairs and maintenance needs
- ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and departmental policies
- promote Intermountain Health mission, vision, and values
- perform other duties as assigned
