Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Five years cooking experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Experience in health care facility desirable
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, lift, reach and adapt to temperature changes
  • Mentally alert
  • Ability to follow food safety procedures and standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • ServSafe certified
  • Five years cooking experience
  • Experience in health care facility desirable
  • Knowledge of basic principles of quantity food cookery
  • Basic knowledge of modified diets

Job Duties

  • Clean and slice fresh produce daily for salad bar and salad station
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner on occasion
  • Serve steamtable on tray line as needed by supervisors
  • Prepare lunch meats and main dishes, soups, vegetables and hot breads
  • Perform advance preparation of meats and plan breakfast meats for the next day
  • Clean and wash all equipment used in cooking
  • Wash and air dry all pans from lunch tray line
  • Keep own work area clean
  • Attend in-services and other meetings
  • Sweep area
  • Fill and record sanitizer sink log
  • Report thin sink thawing under running water to be monitored by the Chef and/or Manager
  • Help with the preparation of small items as assigned by the Chef or Supervisor, i.e. make toast, cold plates, and sandwiches
  • Clean and organize Cook's line and shelves at end of shift
  • Clean resident steamtables daily
  • Check out with Chef and Supervisor before leaving for the day
  • Other duties as assigned
