The Hilton Garden Inn Allentown is currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join its dynamic team. This role is instrumental in maintaining the hotel’s high standards of food quality and safety while ensuring an excellent guest experience. The Cook is responsible for preparing food items based on standardized recipes that uphold brand standards to produce appealing and appetizing dishes for the hotel’s restaurant guests. Emphasizing cleanliness, sanitation, and safety, this position requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to minimizing waste while maximizing the cost and production ratio. As a vital part of the team, the Cook also supports overall hotel operations by maintaining clean and well-organized kitchen workstations and demonstrating excellent teamwork and a positive attitude.
In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to prepare meals in accordance with brand guidelines, comply with food safety certification requirements such as Food Handlers Safety Training, and ensure that all kitchen areas meet or exceed State Board of Health regulations. The position requires completing necessary food preparation and station setup prior to service hours to guarantee prompt and efficient guest service. The Cook will also be responsible for the proper storage and rotation of food items following hotel procedures to maintain freshness and safety. Safety knowledge is paramount, including understanding the location and operation of all safety equipment within the kitchen environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous culinary experience in hospitality or restaurant kitchen setting preferred
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines
- Always provide friendly service with a smile to guests
- Flexible schedule with availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked
- Must clock in/out for breaks at designated times
