Job Description
Church's Chicken is a distinguished quick-service restaurant renowned for its commitment to delivering high-quality comfort food. Operating for over six decades, Church's has established itself as a trusted name in the fast-food industry, focusing on a menu that delights customers with classic fried chicken and a variety of savory sides. This chain prides itself on not only serving delicious meals but also fostering a workplace that encourages growth, opportunity, and respect for all team members. As an equal employment opportunity employer, Church's Chicken upholds a strong dedication to creating an inclusive environment where hiring decisions are made without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other legally protected characteristic.
The role of Cook at Church's Chicken is pivotal in maintaining the superior quality and consistency that the brand promises its customers. Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager and operating within the Field Operations department, the Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food precisely as per the guidelines specified in Church's Operating Standards Manual (OSM). The incumbent ensures that every item served meets the rigorous standards of quality, taste, and safety established by the company. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, a commitment to cleanliness and orderliness, and the physical stamina to handle the demands of a bustling kitchen environment.
The Cook’s daily activities are diverse, ranging from setting up and maintaining the batter station, managing fryer oil quality, to cooking chicken and other food products in alignment with operational needs. The role also involves routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as filtering fryers, safe disposal of trash, and cleaning work areas to comply with health and safety regulations. This ensures not only the quality of food but also the well-being of the kitchen staff and customers. Moreover, the Cook is proactive in checking equipment functionality and reporting malfunctions promptly to management, thus supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Physical requirements for this role are demanding; the Cook must be capable of lifting medium to heavy weights frequently, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing various movements such as stooping, reaching, and climbing. The position demands adherence to safety standards, proper use of safety equipment, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with management, team members, and customers, providing a seamless dining experience.
In summary, working as a Cook at Church's Chicken offers a unique opportunity to be part of a company with a rich heritage and a steadfast commitment to quality food and inclusive employment practices. Those who thrive in dynamic, team-oriented settings and share a passion for culinary excellence will find this role both rewarding and challenging. Whether you are seeking to advance your culinary skills or begin a career in the food service industry, Church's Chicken provides a supportive and energizing atmosphere to grow and succeed.
