As a Cook at Aramark, you will be an essential part of bringing recipes to life with passion and creativity. You will be responsible for setting up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and tools, preparing ingredients through tasks like measuring, mixing, chopping, and peeling, and employing various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. Additionally, the role involves maintaining impeccable cleanliness, organizing food storage, and ensuring compliance with safety and security policies. This Cook role requires weekend availability and entails certain physical demands, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing or walking. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Open availability
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
