Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Prior cooking experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance and/or 20 to 35 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly
- Ability to work in varying temperature environments including hot cooking areas and cold storage
- Adherence to attendance and clock-in policies
- Ability to follow safe food handling and preparation procedures
- Physical stamina for bending, lifting, and working on wet slippery floors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred one year of healthcare or trayline experience
- Prior cooking experience 1-2 years preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English related to job activities
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Utilizes standardized recipes and ingredient control
- Follows proper preparation procedures
- Checks food temperatures, texture, color, aroma, and taste prior to service
- Batch cooks food products to maintain quality
- Ensures safe food handling procedures and proper food rotation
- Maintains proper time management and adheres to department timelines
- Records food production amounts and controls costs
- Participates in training and cross-training activities
- Attends department meetings and reports issues for continuous improvement
- Maintains professional image and adheres to uniform policy
- Responds positively to guest requests and interactions
