Job Requirements

  • No degree or any other education earned required
  • one year of food service experience which can include training from a culinary program
  • ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • critical thinking skills
  • decisive judgment
  • physical ability to perform tasks including bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and carrying
  • ability to adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • willingness to work day shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • one year of food service experience or training from a culinary program
  • knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • customer service skills
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and menus
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares food according to standardized recipes ensuring food production schedules are met
  • follows menus provided and communicates any concerns to departmental leadership
  • ensures that food is prepared and documented according to quality, quantity, nutritional, temperature and safety standards
  • adheres to all applicable HACCP guidelines regarding the requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food
  • uses all necessary food service equipment as needed, using proper safety precautions, operational, cleaning procedures, as well as sanitation and maintenance of work area
