Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- ability to perform basic math
- minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred
- willingness to obtain ServSafe certification within a designated timeframe
- willingness to fulfill annual continuing education and safety training requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on location
- valid driver’s license may be required depending on location

Job Duties
- Prepares and assembles baked goods and other food items for patients, residents, staff and visitors
- cooks, seasons and portions food according to menu and dietary requirements
- adheres to food quality standards regarding appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation
- performs washing and cleaning duties to maintain sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
- maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment and machinery
- follows standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
- operates kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, burners, grills and dishwashers
- documents HACCP steps, temperatures and outcomes to ensure food safety
- works collaboratively with internal customers requiring effective communication and teamwork
- independently completes assigned tasks adhering to food safety and sanitation processes
