The Cook will ensure compliance with all health department regulations by monitoring food temperatures, maintaining detailed logs, and applying corrective actions whenever necessary to guarantee food safety. They will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen environment clean and sanitary by following a detailed cleaning schedule and health standards set forth by state and county authorities.
In this role, candidates will prepare meals using approved recipes, menus, and production sheets, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish served. The Cook will play a part in controlling food costs by managing leftovers properly, monitoring waste, and suggesting waste reduction initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Moreover, this position offers the opportunity to influence and improve the dining experience by recommending menu innovations and enhancing food presentation. The Cook will also contribute beyond the kitchen by supporting other departments such as Marketing Development, helping prepare special meals for meetings, conferences, and charitable events, which emphasizes teamwork and community involvement.
