The Residence at Salem Woods, part of the LCB Senior Living family, is currently looking for dedicated and passionate Chefs to join their culinary team on a part-time, as-needed basis. The position offers new wages with immediate consideration for applicants. This role demands a high level of customer service and creativity as well as strong organizational skills to maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards. Responsibilities also include assisting with culinary staff supervision, coordinating dining enhancement programs, and overseeing food storage and preparation areas. Successful chefs will be adept at estimating food and supply needs, documenting food temperatures, and ensuring consistent quality to meet residents’ expectations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- minimum of 1-3 years experience as a cook in hospitality or healthcare environment
- Serve Safe Certification
- able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs
- previous experience in healthcare or hospitality setting preferred
- ability to build positive and strong relationships with associates, coworkers, and residents
- focused and dedicated to provide excellent customer service
- ability to handle multiple jobs and priorities
- accept direction from superiors or other experienced staff
- knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service
- able to operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner
- physical ability to lift at least 15 pounds, push and pull carts, walk, sit, stand, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and reaching

Job Duties
- Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
- work closely with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs
- assist Culinary Director with supervision of culinary staff
- assist with preparation and execution of LCB Dining enhancement programs
- maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times
- responsible for opening and/or closing of the kitchen
- adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned
