Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • two years experience in large scale food preparation
  • training in institutional food preparation
  • ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • ability to maintain sanitary practices
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to handle frequent lifting, bending, twisting and turning

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • two years previous experience in large scale food preparation
  • training in institutional food preparation
  • ability to follow recipes and standard procedures
  • good physical stamina
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to work in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Previews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups to be obtained and prepared
  • Plans and coordinates cooking schedules to ensure food quality and proper temperature
  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks food to achieve high customer satisfaction
  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes
  • ensures food meets standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance
  • Maintains cleanliness and proper operation of cooking equipment and utensils
  • Maintains sanitary levels by record keeping of HACCP logs, production sheets, cooling logs and sanitation cleaning schedules
  • Works to assume more responsibility and increase knowledge as a productive member of the Nutrition Services staff
